May 12, 2018 – Travel Day
Good weather and no traffic backups made it a great travel day for the 200 miles to Indianapolis, where we’ll be for the next 28 days.
May 13, 2018 – Mother’s Day
Weather: Sunny, high 80s

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms out there. We hope you had a great day.
Our day started with me cooking breakfast for Debbie. I do this every year and haven’t poisoned her yet, so I must be doing soothing right.
Unfortunately, while cooking the breakfast, the Stok grill bit the dust. It just would heat up, and after about 20 minutes on high it was only up to 200 degrees. The tank had plenty of gas since I just recently filled it. Good thing we’re parked close to the dumpster, out with the old in with the new, a Blackstone Tailgater.
May 20, 2018 – A very eclectic tourist day
Weather: partly cloudy, mid 80s

We started out visiting the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This is the qualifying weekend for the upcoming Indianapolis 500. The only tickets available was in the nose bleed section and we didn’t feel like climbing the bleachers, so we didn’t go in, but we still could hear the cars from outside the gate.

We then drove over to, and across, the “Painted Rainbow Bridge” at the entry to the city’s Broad Ripple district. (Kind of like an upscale Philadelphia South Street)

Our final stop was at the Crown Hill Cemetery to check out John Dillinger’s gravesite. I don’t understand the reason to put coins on his gravestone. One would think he stole enough during his crime spree.

Until next time
