Our Stay in Gulf Shores: The Midway Point

We are now two months into our four-month stay in Gulf Shores, and it has been a delightful experience so far. Gulf Shores is a charming town brimming with a variety of restaurants and stores, ensuring that we never run out of options for dining and essentials.

The RV Park is quiet and peaceful, and the staff is fantastic. They have a busy activity calendar with multiple things going on throughout the day

There’s also a big outlet mall located just eight miles north in Foley, which has a Lencrafter’s so I was able to update the eye glasses.

We were having issues with the Jeep overheating when we were in Jacksonville, which forced us to tow it the two stops before Gulf Shores. The mechanic at the dealership spent six hours tracing down a loose ground wire.

We also decided to have the Diamond Shield removed from the front of the coach. This task proved to be quite painstaking and took two detailers over a week to complete. Following its removal, the entire coach was washed and waxed, with a ceramic coating on the front cap.

The highlight of our stay so far has undoubtedly been the visit from our granddaughter Frankie and her mom. Their presence added a special touch to our time here, filling our days with joy and memorable moments.

One of the most surprising aspects of our stay has been the weather in January. Knowing that January is typically the coldest month in Gulf Shores, we were prepared for low temperatures. However, we were taken aback by the unexpected snowfall, measuring between 4 to 6 inches. This was quite a contrast to the present, as just two weeks later, we are enjoying temperatures in the 70s.

As we look forward to the remaining two months, we have lots to do before getting back on the road and we are excited about the adventures yet to come.

Until Next Time,

Safe Travels
