Since we only have to move 117 miles straight (ish) north today, we could sleep in and didn’t have to hit the road until 12:30 pm. It was a relatively uneventful trip, until the end when we found out our exit off of RT 31 was closed and we had to go 15 miles out of our way in order to get to the campground.

The place is known for the sand dunes. Probably half, if not more, of the vehicles on the road are Jeeps or four-wheel drive trucks.

We took a ride over to Hart (local town with a population of 2,000) and saw the veterans memorial and historic district.
We then took a ride around Silver Lake and saw the lighthouse on Lake Michigan.
A Special note to all of our followers:
The blog is now fully updated. We appreciate you patience in receiving the numerous email notifications over the past week, and apologize for any inconvenience they caused.
We’ll see you on the road one day and we’ll buy you a beer to thank you.
Until then,
Safe travels
