The National Corvette Museum

Today we took a ride south to Bowling Green to check out the National Corvette Museum. It’s a great museum with a lot of really nice cars, inside and out.

Some of you may remember the sinkhole in 2014 that swallowed several of the corvettes. It was determined that the sinkhole is actually a part of Mammoth Cave System, with the entrance close to forty miles away. The sinkhole opened up a cave that was 200 feet long, 50 feet wide, and 80 feet deep.

After the museum, we drove around Bowling Green and checked out the “historic district”. Nothing spectacular. However, we did stop off at the Wigwam Hotel which is about five miles from our campground. It’s one of three wigwam hotels in the country that is still in operation. The other two are on Rt. 66.

Until next time
