Merry Christmas!
Since returning from the wedding, we spent most of our time (outside of work and routine life stuff) checking out Savannah.
Our first adventure was the Trolley Tour which picked us up and dropped us off right at the campground. The tour has 15 stops and you can hop on/off as many times as you want. The most memorable stop was St John’s Cathedral, which was all decorated for Christmas. The Maritime Museum, which was mostly large-scale models of ships named Savannah, and the Savanah History Museum, which had an exhibit about Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Scouts.
We had lunch at Spanky’s on the waterfront, which was very good, or we were very hungery. Regardless it was good to get out and see the sites, especially since someone else was driving us around.
We had a very nice first “full-timer” Christmas. Yes, in case you’re wondering, you can still put up holiday decorations even if you live in a motorhome. The dashboard is a great place for the tree and presents. Dinner was buffet style at 1790 Inn . The Inn is supposedly haunted. Not sure if that’s true or just folklore, but the food was very good, and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Although we did miss the family.
We’re here for another week and have more sightseeing planned.
