On the road again…..

Our time at our winter home in Gulf Shores has come to an end.

We’ve been busy over the past two months preparing for life on the road again. One of our projects was a deep cleaning, preventive maintenance, and the purge of non-essential items (you’d be surprised how much you can accumulate in nine years)

We also replaced the kitchen sink and faucet. The old sink had a pinhole leak on the middle of the rear side, which made it impossible to hold any water.

We also upgraded the wireless router to one that has dual CAT 12 modems. And one of the data plans to a multi-carrier unlimited. The new plan will automatically switch between the four major US carrier networks based on the best available signal. The new data plan is unlimited with no speed or usage caps. So far, the new system has been working great with no slow speeds or drop offs. It’s not faster than the individual T-Mobile plan we used before upgrading, but it hasn’t been any slower. Now I just have to figure out what plans I need for redundancy. Since I have dual modems, I have four slots I can use for other data plans.

Right now, we are about 15 miles south of Montgomery Alabama riding out the storms. Hopefully the flooding will subside before we continue north on Saturday.

Until next time

Safe travels
