Page Arizona – Lake Powell

We stayed a week in Page Arizona at Wahweap Campground on Lake Powell. The views were just spectacular.

During the week we were able to take the Canyon Adventure Boat Tour. It was a cloudy and sometimes rainy trip, regardless, words cannot describe seeing the canyons up close.

We first went up close to the Glen Canyon Dam, the second largest concrete arch dam in the United States.

Here’s a closer view of the dam, and on a sunnier day. We drove over the bridge next to the dam to get to the campground and almost every time we went into Page. It was really easy since the speed limit is 25 MPH.

Our next view was of Antelope Canyon, which is approximately 10 miles long, but we could only see about four of those miles before it became too narrow.

We next went to see the Navajo Canyon, which is 600 feet above the water, and saw the “desert varnish” on the sandstone walls, which is also known as the Navajo Tapestry.

It was truly a spectacular trip and we are so glad we were able to take it.

Our next stop is for two weeks near Zion National Park. Where we’re looking forward to a couple of days touring the sites.

Until next time.
