Ensenada Mexico and some final thoughts

As I mentioned in the last post, because of the Jones Act, we have to stop off in Ensenada Mexico prior to arriving in San Diego.

The Jones Act is a federal law that regulates maritime commerce in the United States. The Jones Act requires goods shipped between U.S. ports to be transported on ships that are built, owned, and operated by United States citizens or permanent residents. It is also known as the Merchant Marine Act of 1920. Considered protectionist legislation, the Jones Act focuses on issues related to maritime commerce, including cabotage, which is the transport of people or goods between ports in the same country.

So because of this, Welcome to Ensenada Mexico (roughly 80 miles from San Diego). Needless to say, after being in the Hawaiian Islands, we’re really not to excited with the excursions, and since we have to pack today, I decided to just get off and take a walk around the block so that I could say I was here.

Some final thoughts:

We had a fantastic time on the cruise, but that was in part because of the people we met, and the friends we made.

Jon and Pat are not pictured, out of respect for their wishes, however it’s all good if you knew the reason.
