Mother’s Day 2016

Last year on Mother’s Day we were traveling to Ohio for a week on Lake Erie and stopped at a local diner for brunch.  This year we’re in Cape May and I decided to cook Debbie a special Mother’s Day brunch.

Start of frying up some bacon and once cooked, cut into one-inch pieces

Add potatoes (use the bacon grease)

When the potatoes are almost done, add peppers (red and green) and onions. Add cooked bacon, it will help finish cooking the potatoes.

All done on the grill. Not bad for a novice cook!

After brunch, we went for a drive into town to check it the “painted ladies” and continued up the coast to check out the shore towns and beaches.

Mapquest said it was a 45 minute trip. We took three hours!

Tomorrow we continue south and will be taking the coach onto the Cape May/Lewes ferry. Should be interesting (and probably a little tight) I’m going to try to video the boarding, hopefully it will turn out good enough to post.

Safe travels!

    1. Hi Fonz & Shaz Grainger. Welcome and thanks for stopping by! I just was checking out your blog and will be following as well. The link is also on the Blog Roll.
The grill I use is a Stok Gridiron – http://www.stokgrills.com/products/details/gridiron I love it – especially with all of the inserts.
I’ve even cooked a clam bake using the grill. I’m very behind on the blog but will be posting about it soon.
