So what started us on this journey?

It really started a few years ago when I has an assignment to assess a couple RV parks in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

It was an easy assignment, after all an RV park is just a property with a bunch of parking spots that have utility hook-ups.

DSCN8572As I was touring the property with the maintenance person, Bob, we came around the corner and there was a huge, very shiny custom bus. I asked Bob what it was and he told me the owner lives full time in it and travels the country, spending the summers up north, and all winter in Ft. Lauderdale.

At the time, I thought it was a pretty cool lifestyle, but after returning home and back to life’s treadmill, I soon forgot about the experience.

It wasn’t until a few weeks later when Debbie and I were sitting down one evening, enjoying a cocktail after a long hard day, that the memory popped back into my head and we started talking about our “dream” of living in a motorhome full time and traveling around the country.

It was only a dream at this point because we knew nothing about RV’s of motorhomes (we never been camping), and we knew nothing about traveling the country because in the twenty years we’ve been married, we’ve only taken two vacations.

What we did know was we needed a change.  There has to be more to life than just working to pay a mortgage.
